Food availability and weather greatly influences where Journey North citizen scientists actually report seeing flocks of American Robins. When one source of food (nuts, berries and fruit) becomes depleted, American Robins move to another location.
Do robins stay in the UK all year?
Most British robins are sedentary, defending their territories year-round, with many females also establishing their own winter territories. However, a handful head south to winter on the Continent, joining other robins passing through in the autumn on their way from Scandinavia and northern continental Europe.

The breeding season for robins is usually March time and in a good year you can be seeing fledglings right through until late July; robins have two or sometimes three broods per year.
