Click on the animal to bring up the beast's menu. Click the "Stats" icon, which is the second icon from the right. If the chart's "Habitat," "Hunger," "Thirst," "Social" or "Cleanliness" sections display a low rating, these will need to be attended to for the animal's health to improve.
