For heat purposes, we recommend a UV-A producing halogen flood basking bulb (typically sold for ~ $15) situated to provide a basking platform temp. of ~ 85-95°; use a platform large enough to give the turtle a range to move around.
Can you use a regular light bulb for a tortoise?
