Plants. Marin County has a diverse mosaic of plant communities, ranging from forested Mt. Tamalpais, chaparral, grassy slopes, to ocean and bay marshes and beaches. Mixed evergreen forests, riparian scrub/forest, chaparral, and grasslands are found on ridgetops and upper slopes around the county.
